Parasher Baruah

Parasher Baruah is a Mumbai-based director and cinematographer, and a graduate of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII). His recent feature film as a cinematographer is Jhansi Ka Rajkumar and he has lensed films like Axone,Chappad Phad Ke, Bahut Hua Samman and various regional films. He has directed several music videos for acclaimed artists such as Sid Sriram, Mohit Chauhan, Kaushiki Chakraborty, Shreya Ghosal,Papon and Shantanu Moitra. He is also the director of a 6 part documentary series titles Songs of the River Ganga.His documentary work includes Nodir Kul Nai, on communities living along the Brahmaputra, and Waste, on waste collectors in Mumbai, as well as documentary series exploring empathy, migration, and identity. His films have been featured in national and international festivals and reflect a consistent interest in human stories and social themes. His art installations and photographs on migration, displacement and rivers have been featured in exhibitions like ARTEast(2017-2020) and have been published in journals like International Gallerie,Seminar .
